Globalisation, colonial history, migration and the war in Ukraine: the major lines of conflict in the world have made their mark on our country for some time. In Germany the tensions between the Global South and the West, between postcommunist experiences and post-colonial demands are evident in classrooms, talk shows, parties and families. How can we manage to react to different geopolitical solidarities and demands with empathy and mutual understanding? The migration researcher Yuliya Kosyakova will discuss this question with the sociologist Steffen Mau.
