For the first time in its long history, 60 children took centre stage in two projects at the 60th Jazzfest Berlin in 2023. The ImproCamp was newly launched, inviting 30 children via various social organisations and giving them a holistic, transdisciplinary approach to the art of improvisation. The children took a look behind the scenes of the festival and met musicians in talks and workshops. In addition, 30 other children aged between nine and twelve from two Berlin children’s choirs took to the stage at the Festspielhaus for the commissioned production “Apparitions” after several days of rehearsals with Antonin-Tri Hoang and Romain Clerc-Renaud at the opening of the concert programme.
