Press Conference Performing Arts Season 2024/25

The second edition of the Berliner Festspiele’s Performing Arts Season is focussing on the New York dance and performance scene. To kick off the four-month programme, Taylor Mac and Matt Ray will present the European premiere of their queer rock opera “Bark of Millions” at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele on 9, 11 and 12 October. At a press conference on 7 October, the artists from New York gave an insight into their work on this concert performance consisting of more than 50 songs. According to Taylor Mac, the self-imposed goal of the production is to make the audience itself a little queerer.

Afterwards, Matthias Pees, Artistic Director of the Berliner Festspiele, and Yusuke Hashimoto, Artistic Director of the Performing Arts Season, gave an overview of the further programme featuring outstanding international dance and theatre productions.
